well i would prefer ac1 because it was more historically correct… it called ezio a crusader, but ezio was the exact opposite. he was a muslim if he was truly an assassin… and if he was a crusader trying to kill templars, its like joining the us army and bombing the pentagon….

the animus is replaying memories of the mains characters ancestor that have ben passed down threw genes, the animus awakens these genes and basicly you replay the life of the ancestor, think of it as the character your playing has done everything you did, you health how ever, is syncronization, meaning how similar your mind is replaying the character and how he did it, if you die, you de sync because you character didnt die in the past

this story seems interesting, im just a bit confused if they were using something like time machine or they just using a super computer with virtual world
